About eFountain
eFountain is a wishing fountain that lives on the internet. You toss a coin, you make a wish, and the wish stays yours.
Why it exists
People have been dropping coins into water for two thousand years, and they still do it at fountains they only walked past by accident. The gesture outlived every explanation of why it shouldn't work. eFountain gives it somewhere to happen when there is no fountain nearby — the same small, deliberate act of giving something up, in front of water made of light.
What it costs, and how we live
eFountain is a company, not a charity. Your first coin is free — one per verified email address, for life. After that a coin costs 0.50, sold in packs of 6, 10, 20 or 40, taxes included, with no volume discount. That is the whole business: we sell the gesture, and nothing else.
We make no promise to give any of it away. If we ever support a cause, we will say so afterwards, about something already done — never as a reason to buy.
What happens to a wish
A wish is never published. Keep it, and we store it without ever showing it to anyone. Seal it, and it is encrypted in your browser — even we cannot read it. Or simply think it, and nothing is written down at all. If a wish comes true, its author, and only its author, may choose to tell the guestbook.
Who publishes it
eFountain is published by a French company (SASU) currently being registered, and hosted in Europe. The publisher's full details are on the legal notice page, and are updated the day the registration completes.
